Thank you, THANK YOU, for putting words on something I always HATED in Star Trek : characters who believe ending as captain (or on the bridge) is the only way to live a good, fulfilled life.

I kind of disliked how Lower Decks ended with our characters on the bridge, I was glad there were no sequel.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan who loves Kirk, Picard, and Sisko, it's been really eye-opening to work in tech and see how many leaders—even generally good ones!—think their ultimate responsibility is to have such supernaturally keen instincts that they know when to grab the reins over staff protests.

I know this is a great video, as I watched it through with no knowledge of Trek at all and found it really interesting (and with my ADHD, having me do that's a huge deal).

You've also helped me see that Trek might be the key for my parents to learn about the gender issues they've ignored for years.

I've noticed for a very long time (20+ years now) that right-wingers LOVE Star Trek.

Turns out he from the Terran Empire of the Mirror Universe.
