Wait a minute. They’ve been out of school this whole time?! I just kind of assumed they were out for a bit and went back when it settled down a little. This is heinous, obviously, but at least Trump didn’t drop a bomb on the school the way he did in Iran.

I hate that they're just now feeling safe enough to go back. ICE agents near schools is so awful! what kind of message does that send, kids need support, not fear, right? maybe if we invested in supporting them even more, inside and outside the classroom, things would improve

This school district was, for months, a prime target of ICE during the surge in MN. ICE agents were circling schools, taunting school staff, traumatizing families.

I asked a school official how it is there now.

“We are glad that the thick presence of ICE is no longer a factor for our community."
