A united Europe can kick Russias ass any day of the week. While it is a serious problem that USA has basically abandoned us, we have three times the population, ten times the economy and much better military capabilities. US would have to intervene on Russias side for us to lose.

You may be right. I hope (maybe naively) that would finally be the last straw for the US military, and they would kick him in jail by then.
