Apparently Paypal is now asking those who commissioned artists through invoices for feedback on the experience, Please never type anything, Its a trap. Just putting both yours and their accounts at risk of bans.

No one should give feedback to a payment website regarding an art they commissioned unless demanding a refund

Even then, a refund doesn’t require a payment company to know the specifics of the art commission subject/details really

Thing is, It doesn't need specifics, It seems ANY comment can trigger a ban :/

Good thing I never give anything but absolutely neutral responses to every feedback by a company. If I cannot give absolutely neutral feedback, it's going to be negative. As in, if 5 stars is the max, I give 3. If 4 is the max, they'll get 2.

The way I understand it, ANY comment on paypal is a red flag for them

I'd also say if you have Honey, uninstall immediately. It's owned by PayPal and tracks your website activity. Could easily be used to see when you go to an adult site or to an adult artist's site.

Honey's well known to be a huge fuckin' scam at this point, there's dozens of vids on how they screw over not only casual users but also everyone they sponsor :(

If people still have Honey installed after them being exposed about the actual stealing from creators that used them as sponsors and other obvious scamming activity, they got bigger problems than Paypal tracking how horny they are.

Should uninstall it anyway. It’s been proven to be basically a scam fairly recently. This should clinch it though

Wait how is it a trap and how does it risk a ban????

What's written in the feedback box is visible to PayPal and if there's any reference or hint towards adult content written in there, there's a likely chance they will ban both you and whoever you're paying.

So, leave the box blank every time.

I've chosen to no longer use PayPal for a ton of reasons, but the final nail was the whole Honey debacle. CashApp does the same for me as PayPal did and I don't get charged any extra fees for using my money on how I want to use it.

Just letting you know (in case you do, just ignore me), but CashApp is only US and UK, you're esentially locking out anyone else from comissioning you. If you're cool with that, that's good! But many forget about what payment providers are accesible in what countries, so I just wanted to let ya know

Do you have any kind of purchase protections with those other options, though, and is the window remotely long enough for commission work, because I don't want to have to file a dispute after just two weeks or something.

Don't give corporations more tools to hurt people. If you're asked to rate someone it's a 10/10, if you're asked for comment you leave none.

Why not? What is anyone going to do about it?

I have a feeling there is going to be at least one "PayPal review/comment" from a commissioner that is going to cause a controversy.

EX: commissioner purposely Flags an artist for whatever reason. And in turn that commissioner gets blacklisted from artists, & be the art drama
Probably in 1-5 years

Let’s hope they never make it a requirement to type something there, as part of the service.

They can.

If they do; Only thing you put in the feedback is “I know what you are, PayPal.”

And then nothing else.

I believe its something you can turn off on your end? I remember there was something in the invoice settings that you can toggle off receiving feedback

Best to put nothing, It seems any comment is a red flag doesn't matter what it actually says.

Unfortunately, if you're outside of the US, this isn't easy. Most payment options are US only and there are only a few that work in multiple countries, like Stripe (but not worldwide). There's currently no other option that covers as many territories, except for bank transfer maybe

Its happened, "Exodus cry" caused the Pornhub purge, "Collective Shout" caused the Steam purge. Both are fundamentalist hate groups.
