Tories are dead as a party, they just haven’t realised it. The strategy of cosplaying Reform is catastrophic for them- unconvincing for people wanting populism, since they were literally the government that populists feel failed, and repellent to anyone still hanging on to actual conservatism

I don’t see any coming back from this; but in their post-truth death throes, they legitimise attacks on institutions, leaving them terminally weakened. Thatcher would turn in her grave if she could see what they’ve become. And sadly, Trump proved you don’t need policies to win; grievance is enough
