The religious right in the US wants this. They are a small minority of the country. Unfortunately they have highjacked political power in many states and the Federal govt and supreme court.

They have the presidency. Calling them a minority is fucking stupid when they're in charge right now.

It's correct and accurate to call them a minority when rule-by-minority is exactly what Republicans have been rigging for decades at all levels, constraining democracy through voter suppression and gerrymandering, on top of built-in constraints like the Electoral College.

32% of those eligible to vote is a minority. Having a trifecta doesn't make them a majority.
