So many companies have set up full-time slop factories that its all the consumers expect now. It's a trained response. They don't see a piece of entertainment anymore. They see A Serviceā„¢

What's interesting about this rant is how it briefly mentions Cyberpunk 2077's update schedule but ignores *why* they had to do that: The massive amount of bugs at launch.

No one is blaming an individual developer, they're blaming a poorly planned and implemented project releasing half-baked trash.

Consumers don't understand software development, but they *do* know that games have developers.

They're conditioned to expect a long release schedule because so many games get released in an awful state and then gradually get fixed in patches (sometimes). This doesn't help the "lazy" accusations.
