I don't think we talk enough about the effect of art on us. I can see one drawing I really really like and I'll be happy for the rest of the day I'm not exaggerating. Your art makes someone feel that way. Your art makes someone happy. Your art helps someone get through the day.

I'm sure it does :D people don't often say how they feel about things but it doesn't mean there isn't someone who looks at your art and feels that way. Be sure that the art you make has probably fit a very specific thing someone else was looking for and they throw a party every time u post something

I agree! Plus I believe that art is a great way to communicate to others. We may not all speak the same language, but we can always connect to one another through our feelings of art 🖼️

I took two semesters of art history and two semesters of a esthetic philosophy to come to your point. It is the academic definition of art that messes the whole thing up. I could yammer on, but....

Profound effect.
That's why the Nazis suppressed it and with their limitless greed... stole it.
The same thing is happening here now.

I saw this online during lockdown and thought it spoke volumes about loneliness and the effect the birds had on our family although, I think the actual meaning of this sculpture is different to my personal interpretation.

Birds gave us so much without knowing as does art.

My wife and I visited a gallery a couple years ago in Arizona. She saw a painting there by artist Charles Pabst and I saw her start crying. I had never witnessed anything like it. Instantaneous emotion.
It took me awhile to save up, but I finally ordered it. Never forgot that moment.

Not only that I think seeing other people’s art is fun in the way of like “oh dang I’m seeing what another person is thinking!!” And I think that’s cute asf!!!

As a theme/amusement park nerd, illustrator, fiction writer, anime & cartoon junkie(I have watched over 100 at this point..), Minecraft theme park resort builder, and former trade school digital arts student for 2 years.. I know you are spot on. Art is culture. Art is joy. Art is expression.

Art has made a lot of people live on for a day more, then two days, then a month, a year, in times when they had nothing else to live for

❤️ Art heals. Art inspires. An artless world is bleak and joyless; who wants that? Be bold and create!

I think often about this Pokémon Center art. It not only makes me feel more attached to the franchise I like but it’s just a very cozy and calm setting. Like shit, I wanna be with friends and our funny cool little pets after a long day of adventuring around the world. That sounds like a vibe

There’s also this one (that I just learned now was made by @/haychel many years back). I really love Explorers of Sky growing up and this image is really comforting to me

I have it as my wallpaper on my laptop and sometimes I feel a little safer and at peace seeing this upon booting up my laptop

I just had someone recently tell me one quick doodle from a few years back helped them to come out as nonbinary and it honestly caught me so off guard in the best possible way. ;_; 💜 Making art is truly wonderful!

Or someone can make a comic about their cat discovering their body post-suicide in bed, being sad that they werent pet, and then saying "oh well, they'll pet me when they wake up" as they curl up next to their cold body for snuggles
and it fucks you up for the rest of your life.

Making Art is sharing a piece of your soul with others. When they see and relate to those feelings, they are finding a piece of themselves that connects to the artist and all of the other souls who felt your soul in it.

So true. Not for everyone, but true. I definitely feel like that about other people's art.

This 😭
My room is full of prints I bought on conventions and they became a source of comfort and inspiration. I wish these artists realised how much impact their art has on me on a daily basis 🫶

This is why I try to comment something positive on all art I see <3 Because you never know what the artist is going through and even if you say 'hey that was good' that might be the difference between a really bad day and a tolerable one <3

Please let this be true. My goal is to improve my watercolor skills. Someone said the first thing you need is the desire to create. I have at least that.
