While I've been reading the books it's been great to listen to podcast series by Ranged Touch/Shelved by Genre folks.

I suppose this is my contribution to Severian as a jrpg protagonist camp

the framing and position is *very* JRPG-coded, yeah - you have a very different style, but I can imagine a Yoshitaka Amano version of this!

Hell yeah, I haven't read them but I really enjoyed listening along to @rangedtouch.bsky.social 's Shelved By Genre read through of the books. Severian really is a Guy of all times.
