3. I feel bad for anyone dying like Sasse is, but if he wants to leave a legacy of being the reasonable, moderate conservative trying to use his remaining time to help those who will survive him, he ought aim his efforts at a bigger and more immediate threat to freedom: the Trump Administration.

4. The "whole dang point of America" is that we have no king, we have the rule of law derived from democratic self-government instead. I seem to recall reading that somewhere once or twice. Perhaps Sasse has too and just needs a reminder.
