Survey results released this week by Marist put Mamdani's job approval at 48 percent — significantly lower than the 61 percent notched around the same time by Eric Adams. www.politico.com/news/2026/04/10/hed-at-100-days-mamdani-is-already-a-different-kind-of-mayor-00865897

Weird how Sherrill across the river is at a 58% approval rating but only one of these people is heralded as the future of the Democratic party

From the poll results: "A majority of adults (56%) say things in NYC are moving in the right direction. 43% say they are moving in the wrong direction [...] a large shift since October 2025 when just 31% of residents citywide thought the city was on track. 66%, at that time, said it was off course."

Yes and as we can see from Eric Adams, these early term results are great predictors of a mayor's ultimate success.

Pragmatic policy-focused progressives should use this to get the Left to understand practicality determines outcomes, not passion or rhetoric. I am rooting for Mamdani and I think he has found some success. But I knew he would hit reality like a brick wall.

Sour, but let's make some lemonade.

The Left should recognize Mamdani faces unnecessary headwinds.

Slogans like "ACAB" alienate otherwise potential allies in the police unions. The message should be "corrupt cops make cops and communities unsafe" or something...

We don't want to eat the rich. We want to rebuild the American Dream.

Very interested in the people in the poll who think Mamdani is working hard, understands the problems of NYC, is a good leader, is working to represent all NYC residents, is fulfilling campaign promises, and is someone they trust, but they do not approve of his job as mayor so far.
