It’s because all art is ultimately about hope. If things were truly hopeless people wouldn’t create.
We can use this as performers. If there are words left on the page, somebody’s still trying to change somebody’s mind.
The Boss knows this and it sustains his work.

Haha dumb poem time: if there’s a word on the page or a note in the air, you know there’s hope, the hope is there.
(Seriously so many actors wreck performances by playing into despair or fury before the scene ends.)
