Being autistic isn't hard. All you have to do is remember the 3 things that make NTs most mad:

- Misunderstandings
- Any effort on your part to prevent a misunderstanding
- Any attempt after the fact to clear up a misunderstanding

So long as you avoid those, functioning in NT society is easy!

Once you become a geriatric autistic it becomes even easier, because you stop caring.

Personally I find more difficulty with people assuming I'm dumb and people taking forever when there's a set schedule

Why do you assume people assume you're dumb?

And don’t worry! If you have something like ADHD, NTs will understand the difference between excuses and explaining how executive dysfunction works and what happened, not expecting to be pardoned.

And then if you decide that not communicating to them until you need to is best, they'll assume you're being rude!

Oof, that hits hard. The number of times I've had to flee a situation to avoid embarrassing myself with a public meltdown only to be told I was rude for leaving. There's no winning with some people!

It's okay though, because they can console themselves with their favourite hobby: utterly misrepresenting every interaction they ever had with you!

There's no way forward now. We must part ways, never to see each other again.

That made me laugh 😂

I'd add "direct, truthful communication instead of 'friendly' lying" to that list, though.

But also God forbid they catch you on a "friendly lie", because then it'll be over

Also do not ask for or expect clear direct communication, it must be ofuscated and unclear and based entirely on vibes, but vibes even they themselves cant always parse. Fun!

Tip: In the Series "The Chosen" Matthew is also an autistic figure as Tax collector. Very intelligent.

Never thought about it - don't know if really was - but I like the thought.
He also has this things to learn - but does very well.
Perhaps something for you?

Deleted prior comment. It was meant to be flippant, but was ill judged and badly expressed. My apologies.
