we have to somehow accustom ourselves to the fact that we have to protect ourselves from loads of our fellow Americans who absolutely love evil and are thrilled to vote for it when given the chance

This is a big reason why I stopped volunteering for the local Scouting organization. I'm in Iowa so, statistically speaking, at least half the adults I worked with are fascists, or don't know it by name but like it when they see it.
