I'm not sure where you got that idea, but there is nobody fighting a well-bred Doberman Pinscher.

We adopted our doberman from a humane society and we believe she was from a fighting ring. One of her siblings had DNA dobe and in her lineage showed a show dog. I'm sure it does happen.

The origins of of chopping the tales & ears off is so the opponent dog couldn't get ahold of the ears & tail. It gave the other dog an advantage. Now people do it for the aesthetics. * I didn't just make that up. I had looked it up because it seemed pointless.

that's only for pit bulls. Dobermans don't have any significant prescence in fighting rings, they'd get defeated easily. Dobermans have their ears cropped because they're personal protection dogs (still barbaric tho if the dog isn't a true working dog)

Oh I believe you are right! I'm in several doberman owner groups and people go back and forth over why or why not it should be done.
