I constantly attend appointments and meetings with trans/enby clients, and witness responses like “uh well I’ll try, but this trans stuff is new to me” or who will push back when a kid corrects them. “Well uh you are a boy though.”

Last week I sent someone at a state agency a packet of of medical reports all using the correct pronouns. For a kid whose legal gender is X, not that that should matter. The Massachusetts state employee responded with tons of questions referencing the medical care, using only wrong pronouns.

When I wrote back and pointed this out and how inappropriate it is (also it’s illegal in this state), the state employee and supervisor just told me the family was free to file a grievance if they thought they’d been discriminated against.
