A bit of hyperbole, yes. But given his position, it seems to me that his inaction in the face of genocide is immoral.

Schumer kept on obsessively sending money and weapons to Israel while his base protested genocide. Why is he even a Democrat if he just does what the opposite of the base wants? I dont think it is hyperbole. I think he is a collaborator against Democracy. Opposition leaders dont act this way.
