Once again, thank you ;83 doing this! In addition to being an amazing list and a chance for me to find some reads that have somehow passed me by, this project is a wonderful remind of how lucky we are to have so much amazing queer lit available.

Interesting double bind. Because absolutely, yes, but witness the readership (with 'zon reviews as a proxy) and award recognition (slim to none) of the majority of this list. It's being put out but in wish it found a broader audience. Fine for it to be niche, but ideally a *bigger* niche!

Another great selection! I appreciate these as reminders of books I already own and haven't read yet too when so often it feels like books fall out of the conversation after a series is completed, I really should bump The Black Coast and sequels up my TBR this year đź‘€

It really is brilliantly put together and huge amounts of fun. Sadly didn't do the numbers to demand the sequel or spinoff that the epilogue lightly left open (the series plot arc is entirely complete tho).

Just read the first book in Juliet Kemp’s series and really enjoyed it. Thanks for mentioning the series—I hadn’t heard of it.

Yeah it has great blurbs - aliette de bodard & malka older have cover quotes! - but it's out from a very small press & didn't seem to get much attention. There are all couple of rough edges more time & money on editing might've smoother out but overall I think it's hugely accomplished.

A Desolation Called Peace is just flat out the best sci-fi novel of the year. Although arguably the second best--Light From Uncommon Stars--should be on this list too!
