Here in Canada, someone who ran for the leadership of our right-wing party in 2020 —and was on the right-wing of the right-wing party— just crossed over to join our nominally centrist party that's currently in charge. I'm still gobsmacked that they took her in.

I like that they aren't Republicans. But my vote is not a given just because I loath conservatism. The Democrats need to adopt more progressive policies if they want to succeed.

I’m not a democrat, but I’ve voted for them my entire life (except ross perot when I was 18, which frankly I plead goddamn-I-was-18-and-dumb). So obviously I don’t hate everything about them, but generally I’m fine being critical of dems. The party needs to purge a lot of mediocrity imo.

We need to stick together or we’re keeping this regime in place & losing our America. We need to try to get some normalcy back. Not only for the U.S. but worldwide! We have a chance to if we all vote. Win the House/Senate and boot Trump. There are issues w/Dems but NOTHING like this mess! Seriously!

This isn't conducive to discourse that's going to improve the party. This is the perfect time for specific criticism of the party's identity and policies as they've got time before November and 2028 to realize what voters want. Schumer and Jeffries are awful. They can't be leaders going forward.
