I miss seeing tours of your garden almost as much as I miss this country being free from fascism.

I was reading all of the Trump/Musk stuff and when I read this I thought of them both blooming simultaneously.

This wasn’t pinned when I saw your profile earlier, so I looked it up myself, and I’m super glad I did. It’s a philosophy I inadvertently adopted a few years ago and didn’t even know it had a name, so thanks for that.

Gen X latch-key kids did that every day when they got home a few hours before their parents came home from work.

I decided to write a novel last year a few weeks before my 45th birthday. After 15 months I ended up writing 3. Whether they will get published is another story altogether, but it's an accomplishment all the same :)

The Japanese have such an amazingly wonderful language.

I'm writing a novel, and this is an encouraging word. Oddly enough, one of the characters speak with your voice, brother D. There are voices that I find very soothing to listen to. Yours is one. Stacy Keach. Patrick Stewart.

2 things:

1) a few are like the corpse flower.

2) some are way past their blooming and have been wilting, which is also in its own ways.

somewhat related: I just did a Better Things rewatch & 1)didn't realize you're only in 1/3 of the episodes as Rich is so fully intertwined in my memory of previous watches; &2)your performance is A+++ luminous every moment you're on camera. Thank you, thank you for your part in this gift of a show.

I needed to see this at this exact moment in time. I'm glad I decided to see if you were here on this site. I've watching a lot of Drew Carey show, which was a big part of my childhood and I just found American Housewife. Thanks for providing much needed laughs!✨

Sweet. This reminds me of Madeleine L'Engle’s A Wrinkle In Time. The main character’s mom is a scientist & her brother’s a genius. Her mother assures her that we all learn in our own time. That was a great comfort to me.

That remains one of my favorite books of all time. Thank you for mentioning it. I found great comfort in the way Meg's parents parented their children, all of whom were very different from one another, but all accepted and loved as they were.

Oh gosh. I was VERY slow to “bloom”. I’m starting to understand myself now that I’m old. Youth really is wasted on the young.

It's better to use the repost function, or the quote, instead of sharing a screenshot of the post. The post isn't on a different website after all, and this way people can easily see more from the original poster. bsky.app/profile/wordology.bsky.social/post/3lqlau6duvs2g
