Congratulations Texas y’all might have a shot at being normal again.
Although I’m not sure about hugely religious person in that position. Religion is important but fairness for all should be the goal

The emphasis on religion is mainly to make a frontal assault on the hypocrisy, fraud, and heresy of the protestant evangelical churches and ministers who have been enabling evil and social darwinism for years. It is long overdue.
I've noticed atheists who know the teachings of Jesus doing it too.

Not to mention our Jewish friends. I don’t think it’s antisemitism, I think people are lashing out at the only target they can. It’s not right though
