I don't think they care, technically they have 4 stores right now. MSFT store, Xbox, Blizzard/Activision & Bethesda are all launchers on PC. Further proof of that is they are slated to have all of their games on the Steam store within a few years.

Tells me they care more about aggregate sales.

100%! I’m just saying none of those stores brings in as much money as a Steam or PlayStation store and I think that’s what was driving their push for game pass subscriptions. Because that’s the one thing they have that no one else really has but I don’t think that bet payed off.
