Americans have less excuse than Germans who joined the Nazis: Nazism was a new phenomenon, while for Americans, it's a fairly recent history lesson. And after Trump1, and the insurrection, there was no doubt that Trump2 would be worse, he was angrier, even more resentful and openly promised revenge.

That’s exactly right. People have to make sure they don’t become Nazis. Choosing it with eyes wide-open is one way. But it’s not the only way.
