There is definitely some trolling going on with the selection of this year’s awardees. They are all deserving, and probably overdue - but the timing seems intentional.

Interesting article from Nature showing that a large number of those winning science and medicine Nobel prizes did so outside their birth country. The US being by far the greatest beneficiary.
