Comics like these reduce, rather than increase, trust with Waymo. Which give the safety records of Waymo and humans, is going to get more people hurt and killed.

It's just irresponsibly farming anti-tech sentiment for likes.

I understand the sentiment because I had the same reaction myself, to want to “umm actually” the comic.

But on reflection; it’s Waymo’s job to build trust and differentiate themselves from the crowd.

Good tech gets caught up in bad tech abusing users’ and the public’s trust, and I think that’s a shame and as a technologist myself it feels discouraging. But I don’t think complaining about people being underinformed about a still small company like Waymo is very useful.
