As with refugees, as with trans people, the overriding tactic that Starmer's government uses is to slash services, then blame said groups for having any needs in the first place.

They may not always use eliminationist language - it's all very proper and for-your-own-good - but what's the result?

It’s about making them disappear. And us. And anyone who doesn’t fit into their pale-hued definition of “hard working families”. Why won’t we all just do a kindness to ourselves and disappear? They wonder.

Don't live in the UK but I'm sure this is a common thing in most countries: Voters & politicians complaining about lazy & freeloading disableds, demanding that they are put to work but when you then seek work with a disability everybody is like you're too icky for a job or only in almost slavery.
