This grinds my gears when it's used incorrectly. And, people have started saying "all of THE sudden". What?!! All of A sudden, friends.

I think the more popular, modern understanding is "thing."

Just sounds like you could save yourself a lot of grinding to just accept it. This type of change has happened and will continue happen.

Right? Thing makes no sense in that context. All of the sudden just sounds awkward. Guess I had way too many picky English teachers. Another one is I seen it instead of I saw it

Or how about me and you instead of myself and yourself? People use possessive pronouns incorrectly.

Another one tht bugs me that I hear a lot is "try and" instead of "try to"
