What makes either of you think that the GOP are going to be facing that sort of penalty any time in our lifetimes

Do you seriously look at the current Democratic party or GOP at general and think they're going to pursue that?

No. I think that’s on us. If the Dems are complicit then they can suffer the same fate. I am under no illusions that the oligarchs and their minions are going to police themselves.

It’s going to be very, very messy.
