This specious, ignorant and frankly racist view really boils my blood. It's the laziness and prejudice of dropping your anti-imperialism at the mezuzah. Why, pray tell, did many Jewish families have those surnames? Did it have to do perhaps with being subjected to the hegemon?

Could you understand why a historically oppressed people would want to shuck off that legacy and reconnect with something that is properly theirs?
This, of course, does not excuse the weaponization of language in colonialist efforts. But these bigots elide the essentialism in their indigeneity.
