Worst part is the book was mistranslated to begin with.
It originally didn't say "gay is evil," it said "pedophilia is evil."

Saying it condemns pedophilia is a renegotiation by contemporary folks, as back then adult men often got married to minors. Obviously pedophilia is VERY BAD, but society in biblical times didn't recognize it as a thing to begin with. The issue for them was men being on the "bottom" (b/c patriarchy).

I used to get beat so damned hard for bringing that up in private christian school.
They wanted me to study the bible, so I DID in great depth, and boy did that backfire on them! (Also fuck those assholes for beating children)
