Yes, good point. And another consequence of the unitary executive -- as you describe it, where every appointed officer and actor must show sufficient toadying capacity -- is that every four or eight years government must be absolutely gutted of political actors.

anecdotes about this or that person, in DOJ or the Social Security Administration or HHS, who stayed for 30 years? It seems unlikely, if each of them has to answer every four years to a new politician like Bill Pulte or Noemdowski or a weak toady like Rubio.
