Britain had to unilaterally withdraw from the Middle East, that seems *very* unlikely here and we still don't know *what* is going to happen with tolls, Israel, uranium, etc.

My *guess* is that the US functionally traded Khamenei's head for tolls, which is moronic but much less one-sided.

I think you meant "western" hemisphere. This, in a way, in fact represents a return - after the 80-year period beginning in 1945 - to traditional U.S. aversion to becoming involved in European affairs.

There's a difference between "the country is run by a clown who thinks he's getting a great deal" and "the country is now the vassal state of another country" and the US has not in fact been vassalized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

You might be right. In a few years we can check the history books and see if this is a recorded as any sort of win for Trump, or indeed the most historic, humiliating International policy failure in history.
