Doesn't the word "alliance" do that work? People who make up words like that sound like they learned to read in jail.

I don't love the word, but you can't sub "alliance" in, like, "Jim got really into performative allyship that year, spending as much as $20 a month on Etsy buttons." There are two parties in an alliance, but allyship is something you can do by yourself.

("Advocacy," though, maybe?)

Alliance suits me.

Neologisms can have charm. "Allyship" ain't charming.
