Our tuxedo cat comes and gently paws at me to come over and pet her while she is eating from her special dish. She does this every single time she is going to eat. Maybe being a diva is a tuxedo cat thing?

Nope. Our Siamese does this all the time. Annoying, but we figure she has something in her past that makes her insecure about eating "alone" (she is a rescue), so we indulge her as much as possible since she refuses to eat much of anything otherwise. We've tried behavior modification w/o success.
