Trump’s out here posting like he’s in love with Iran now…

They can probably get whatever they want out of him at this point.

Here’s the next important question: how will the fee be paid? In US$ (highly doubt it) or Yuan (very likely)? So no new US treasury buyers, right? Trump just finalized the end of the Dollar as a global reserve currency.

Just as importantly, how will it be paid without the payees getting hit with the consequences of sanctions-busting.

they don't want to give up the leverage of the strait - or I wonder if they mined it and there's some restriction there (limited cleared lanes? Need to put pilots on ships?)

We won the war.

As in, we did not accomplish a thing and gave control of everything to our enemy.

This is what you call 'Too much winning', right?

I mean, frankly, is there any need to speculate? We'll have hard evidence in 24 hours.

I know, I was just about to go to bed and I just briefly checked in to make a quip about Starfield and I saw that and just...it shocked me.

I was responding with shock. I didn't think Trump could shock me anymore, but here I am. It is *shockingly* bad if true and it might be true.

There’s no need to speculate in the absolute sense, however our anxiety will speculate freely without us irregardless of needs and desires.

Iran knows Trump is a terrible negotiator. So they will continue to negotiate in the public eye, where Trump can continue to embarrass himself and the US.

They agreed to our desperate cease fire deadline, but it appears they planned ahead and we did not (again).

And this morning Iran has announced they will destroy any ships transiting without paying their toll. So Trump has officially done more to empower Iran than anyone in modern history.

Well at least we have a ton of soft power reserves to offset this humiliation.

Wait, I’m hearing…oh god…oh god no…

Well, IF I recall my history correctly, we'll need to call in a professional Roman panegyrist, a latter day Sidonius Apollinaris, to recast these events as the crushing US victory that they so obviously are.

That is what a Trump victory looks like. Worser conditions like before. How many of his companies went bankrupt?

Who first predicted that the final outcome would be an Iran-controlled, tolled, restricted strait and Trump getting a cut of the toll income? I know I've read that on here before. Looks more credible than ever.

The 2 million dollar toll supposedly will be evenly split between Iran and Oman. Which means both countries now have a financial incentive to keep this situation as is and create ties between those two countries.

With that and ending sanctions, Trump has successfully ended Iran's isolation.

We'll all see in the morning if Trump is feeling emasculated about this and starts bombing again.

There is no way the Iranian 10-point proposal could be considered much of a "starting point" for negotiations much less for permanent peace. It would be the most abject and complete capitulation document the United States had ever signed
