Yeah and see, I don't think Iran understands itself as having agreed to do that.

They're saying they agreed to their own 10-point plan, which is not this thing.

it's like Gaza, where you'd get announcements that Israel and Hamas had both agreed to a ceasefire but it wasn't the same ceasefire

Got an update from Iran.

"Technical limitations" strikes me as a huge caveat.

"Coordination with Iran's Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations" must be a local Farsi idiom for, "through the toll booth."

Sounds like TACO Trump wants to take credit for ending something HE started. Ridiculous.

Iran did make side deals today with several Asian nations to let ships through, so maybe the idea is that both sides will have enough cover to claim they won? www.bbc.com/news/articles/c79jqx1xdy9o

It may be funnier than that. Iran may have agreed to open the toll road to all paying customers and Trump is calling that open.

I think that may be exactly what is happening.

What needs to happen for this to actually move forward is for Iran to open the strait at least temporarily. If it doesn't this is just another waste of time while things move forward as they have done so far

Oh okay heh. That's NOT a ceasefire then. Which is just whatever; we weren't exactly expecting one. It's also not the all-out "fire and fury" rampage we were promised mere hours ago! And SOME people were expecting that, but they are mostly suckers.

I have a nasty feeling Vance called the WH with an โ€œok weโ€™re goodโ€ and the WH interpreted that however it wanted

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone involved except Trump agreed to not opening the strait.

But Trump just ignored that, announced, and is trying to make it real.

The strait is open to all ships who pay the tolls demanded by both Iran and Oman.
