Like say what you will about Walmart but Walmart is functional. It is a store that makes sense. You try to buy a pack of ramen from Amazon and itโ€™s like escaping the fucking Minotaurs labyrinth, itโ€™s somehow become more annoying than getting in the car.

this makes sense but then every time I actually go to Walmart and try to buy something it's inside a locked cabinet and the single employee who can unlock things doesn't work there anymore

It also seems to be quite the store to pick up murder and crime clean up supplies, so many crimes are solved by going through Walmart store video (at least that's the impression ID channel gives).

Yes, market saturation and murder have been bedfellows for quite some time.

My roommate had half a dozen orders insta canceled by amazon over the past 6 months, most of them getting parts for his new computer

God I hate this with supplements or more obscure food items. Amazon will always have it for cheaper but FINDING it is a nightmare. There organizational tools are abysmal and it constantly throws things unrelated or barely related into the mix because the algo/AI they use sucks.

therapeutic (and delicious) to buy carrot, celery, onion, make soffritto - then put in tomato paste, passatta, and maybe diced tomatoes and cook, then freeze the result. You can put it in a jar if you want to ...

You don't even have to get that complicated sometimes. My favorite pizza sauce is the 8oz can of store brand tomato sauce with some herbs and spices shaken on after I spread it on the dough.

But apparently, stay far away from their candy bar dupes.
Matt Mitchell on youtube did blind taste tests and hated all of them but one.

He frequently picks store brands over name brands (dollar general jerky over name brand, for ex)

Itโ€™s weird but the snickers knock-off is really bad in a good way?

Amazon really started phoning it in once they got everyone to sign up for prime subscriptions now they don't really care if you buy anything or not. Basically netflix if it were a store.

Amazon is just a company that stores your data on the internet that also sells you cheap plastic crap because they signed iron-clad contracts a decade ago and it's cheaper to sell the crap than sue to get out of it.

A friend at work was showing me how cheap some vitamins she recently got on Amazon were and I was aghast

Youโ€™re *ingesting* things you bought off Amazon fourthhand from some untraceable company called โ€œMNZYYKโ€ or something?! That could be anything in there!

I mean, that's true from more reputable places as well. There's no real regulation of them. Plus, unless a person has very specific issues diagnosed by medical professionals, supplements are unnecessary.
