Electric trains! Local transshipment! Efficient last mile delivery (electric if possible!)

That’s where our money should be going.

If we closed the electrification gaps and invested in dual-voltage locomotives (or even just dual mode locomotives) we’d get cheaper freight.

Yes, but we waste a far bigger amount driving in circles in cities- by design!
Keep more of what fuel there is for essential uses by shifting this huge and costly waste. We could, but govt would have to actuary…

Maybe the ev owning city dwellers doing think pieces can all get together with trailers and haul produce around the country
