Electric trains! Local transshipment! Efficient last mile delivery (electric if possible!)

That’s where our money should be going.

If we closed the electrification gaps and invested in dual-voltage locomotives (or even just dual mode locomotives) we’d get cheaper freight.

Yes, but we waste a far bigger amount driving in circles in cities- by design!
Keep more of what fuel there is for essential uses by shifting this huge and costly waste. We could, but govt would have to actuary…
