Step 1: Apply pressure now, maximize the pain of continuing to defend Trump going forward.
Step 2: Get Republicans out of office along with foot-dragging Democrats too.
Step 3: Somewhere along the timeline, support will rise above the threshold.
Step 4: Rinse and repeat as often as needed.

My fear is that the “Impeachment Now” strategy will backfire. Low information voters will be disappointed when the House fails to impeach, they’ll blame Democrats, and then sit out the midterms, keeping the GOP in power.

There is zero evidence of this being a thing that happens. Especially not to a historically unpopular president.

You can just as easily invent an opposite scenario where low info voters think it's not a big deal because Dems aren't trying. Which is our current reality.
