My uncle was disabled his entire life. When my parents took over his care they applied for SSDI for him. It took over a year to get it. He lived a couple of years after that.

When he was 6 he ran into a hornet nest. They stung him over and over on the back of his neck and the toxin destroyed his thyroid gland. His case is in all the Endocrinology textbooks. The only case of non-genetic thyroid dysfunction. He should of been on SSDI his whole life.

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. It is so sad how mechanically the government works without any empathy.
And that is only going to get worse with Trump's policies!
