You'd also have to recognize the libidinal aspects of domination. That AI's appeal is not ethically neutral version of slave labor, but instead the promise that everyone will have their own sentient being they can dominate.

A.I. wasn't a perfect film, but it did nail the libidinal relationship with robots, esp in the flesh fair scene.
