Totally agree it was an a obstacle. But all else equal, someone with familiarity and ties to a district is preferable to an opportunist.

I mind how critics, even in the replies here, used that word to describe it.

Yeah, I hate the word. Not the practice. And very sharp about her not being able to define her lane after Jan resigned.

Part of what makes it hard to draw a lot of conclusions from the campaign is how crowded the field was. That's directly related to the familiarity issue. She couldn't clear her lane in the field or start with significant local support. eg orgs jointly endorsed her and her opponents.
