The new Wuthering Heights movie should’ve just been a new story. If you can’t nail the central theme of racist classism and gothic, self-destructive romance with criminally flawed characters, then what business do you have to pervert the name ā€œWuthering Heightsā€ into some white washed smut fest.

OMG your sex fetish film doesn't have enough racism to keep your attention.

HEATED IM HEATED bro. Not to mention making the poc characters (who weren’t poc in the books) into the ā€œbad guysā€ is just like… are you fr??? ARE YOU FR?!? Let’s put aside the blatant racism and just acknowledge how much it cheapens the story. CHEAPENED IT SM šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ§

The ā€œbad guysā€? I didn’t interpret them as the bad guys at all.

Kinda felt that way about Del Toro’s Frankenstein. The story is about how monsters are made by the monstrous behavior inflicted on them. By erasing every bad act done by the creature, it’s not remotely the same story

If you want the same story.

Read the same story, don't go see new films and expect replicated experience of a novel or past film.

That's not how new adaptations work.
