Yesterday Britain generated 91% of it's power through renewables, and 13% through nuclear, while exporting energy to Denmark and Holland, and that's not even a *good* renewables day

And I'm meant to think more exploitation of North Sea fossil fuels - a finite resource, more expensive to get, still affected by global oil prices, _causing CO2 which we need to cut to keep food-growing temperature down - is the way to go instead? I haven't banged my head!

Concagh the Elder has a decent case for why one might increased NS extraction but it's basically just for increasing the national/european reserve until a full green transition kicks in

So from what I can work out the impending energy crisis *in the UK* is likely to be about transport (and the poor schmucks like me who are still on oil), not about yer actual grid power, right?

It has been fucking wild, btw, to go from confidently hearing very smart guys going, "Renewable cannot cover this" and, like, having the math BE CORRECT to having those SAME PEOPLE go, "Uh we covered it with renewables"
