I don't mind that our brains are really good at picking up on patterns; that is responsible for a vast amount of our more ingenious accomplishments. But yeah, it also needs to be balanced with the more sober logical bean-counter brain.

What damns us is when we reject the true for the comfortable.

I've never understood the fetishization of 'faith' as a good thing (when applied to big things we don't have answers to)

I leave the door open to speculative things ~ gods, aliens etc ~ but until they show up, I'm focussing on the entities already sitting in my living room that HAVE materialized

Like one instance: That bullet not hitting Trump. Could it be a kid shooting from that far away had a super unlikely chance of hitting a target that moves? He was more than a football field away and hadn’t spent years training as a sniper.
