It kind of reminds me of Portland, Oregon's murals. Before I lived in a SoCal city that was rather conservative and drab, but one of the most astounding things to me about the PNW is the amount of building murals all over the place. You would not have that from where I lived.

We have trash receptacles with roses and bigfoots on them. Then again, I think that's a after effect of having a large, diverse and present art community that's actually nutured and loved.

Their work was all over Osaka too. Buildings, vending machines, restaurants, once you noticed their work they would pop up hahaha
