Since I've got a bunch of new followers thanks to a quickly snapped photo of the Moon and Mercury last night that somehow blew up, here's an image of the Orion Nebula taken with a Seestar S50.

I was glad to be able to edit this to bring out a bit of the blue/green that is easily seen visually.

I managed to capture it earlier this year with an S30 in EQ mode, it is quite spectacular what even these small devices can achieve.

I editied in Snapseed to bring out more of the colour, adjusting sliders to balance the curves as Seestar skews this towards Reds with its own AI filter pass.

Nicely done!! Seestar does skew red - I was happy to pull a bit of blue and green out of my image.

Love the colors in your capture.
Here’s mine from the other night, so far I’ve edited only with iPhone native app. #SsestarS50

Always thought the colours were fake, just interpretations added using Photoshop or whatever.

No, cameras pick up colors over time that our eyes generally can't see due to low light.

The Orion bar is showing nicely in your photograph. Out of interest how do you find the Seestar (thinking of getting one)?

Extremely easy to use. Captures adequate images. Very useful for eclipses (lunar and solar). Can't get a "real" astrophotography set up for anywhere close to what it costs - absolutely worth having.

My local astronomy club, literally everyone has one. Everyone - the ladies too.
