Most Animation Critics will say they love independent art and exclusively cover studio made art made by subsidiaries of larger corporate umbrellas. Most of them have a superficial love for the medium, and only stick around for the high of acting like they’re too smart for literal children’s movies.

This is literally how most Animation Critics think. They think that the mere act of criticism is some sort of revolutionary act, but criticism in and of itself is not subversive nor impressive. No one aside from some fanboys are going to care that you critiqued The Mario Movie lol.
