Totally agree on Two Towers as #1. It was my least favorite book, but they somehow barrowed and rearranged things to make it the best IMO.

I read the books in middle school, and Fellowship of the Ring was my absolute favorite, so I went into the movies fully expecting it to be my favorite there too.

Then The Two Towers hit me with that pacing, that tension…and that Helm’s Deep battle goodness 🤌

I never recovered 😂

I remember finding them all meh and frustrating when they came out. The pacing felt off and I never really got to know the characters much. I could still appreciate the scale though.
Then I watched the extended editions years later with the missus and I finally "got" it.
I've loved it ever since.

I think Fellowship will always be my fav- especially the Mines of Moroa scenes!

Then Two Towers. The Edoras storyline/Helm's Deep was so cool!

And ROTK might be last, but its still absolutely amazing!

This is the way! Two Towers is so good 😄 its definitely my favourite of the trilogy for mix of adventure and battle scenes. ROTK is just too much crammed in even with the extended edition.
