She speaks the truth though, its a dangerous game adding those potato crisps to the shopping list

There is or was an entire instagram account dedicated to posting comments from the NYT cooking site (I recognize that font).

I will forever be haunted by the person who made a cake recipe but only used half the flour and then complained about the result. What were you expecting?!?!!

This is the recipe if anyone wants it (it’s a gift link). I’ve been on a slow cooker kick for a while now and I have some potatoes to use up, so here we are!

Ooo thank you, this looks great (we are fans of potatoes in multiple forms in this house)

Just the recipe I needed today. Thanks!

The most unhinged thing about the comment is the chips are a garnish. You could just not use them at all. Use cracker or nothing and still have a great soup. Swearing off a recipe you like over an ingredient you don't need at all is hilarious!

I started laughing reading the comment. It’s like store bought cookie dough, why bake it, get a spoon…

Haha seriously. I’m still going to make the recipe (it’s for potato cauliflower soup) but I consider myself warned

Oh yeah, she’s absolutely correct. A bag of chips is a slippery slope.

My partner loves the Smitten Kitchen leek and Brie galette, which calls for 4oz of Brie, so I have to buy a 7-8oz package for her to snack on the rest while I make it.

I love the ones that say "This recipe was terrific and will go in our weekly rotation. I decided I'd boil it rather than roast. I added zucchini and omitted the red pepper. A cup of chopped bananas is far too much. I used half a jar of capers instead of garlic..."

Yeah, I find there are like 2 kinds of comment recipes: ones by people who can't conceive of substituting a different ingredient for something like potato chips, and ones by people who will substitute anything for anything so what they made does not resemble the original at all, for good or ill.
